Another pet-safe plant, Calathea makoyana or Peacock plant, is aptly named, as its oval-shaped light and dark green patterned leaves mimic the feathers of the Peacock. The underside of the leaves are shades of maroon.
Place it near a window with bright, indirect sunlight to ensure vibrant leaf colouring without leaf scorch. Maintain high humidity, so avoid placing at windy locations and in direct flow of the air-con. Water once in 6 to 7 days.
This Calathea uses the semi-hydro method of growing, and is planted in LECA (clay pebbles) in a closed glass vase.
Glass vase and plant: 8cm x 8cm by 17-20cm height.

Availability: In stock
Sunlight: Bright indirect sunlight, or artificial light.
Water: Once every 6 to 7 days. Pour up to 2cm depth of water into the glass container.
Feed: Feed a general purpose liquid fertiliser at least once a month.
