Nandina doméstica or heavenly bamboo, has striking green and burgundy foliage, and is relatively low-maintenance. The more direct sunlight you give it, the more it will reward you with all those lovely shades of red. (The image of the plant we have has been in indirect sunlight, so the foliage is mostly green.)
